Ikigai
Description:
Have you ever encountered a problem and had to look at it from a different perspective? Ikigai is a puzzle game that utilizes the changing of perspective to solve them. In this game, an aspiring young artist named Oliver gets trapped in the world of Japanese painting and befriends a black cat who will help him on his journey. He meets Kaito, a man who lives in this painting and learns he must overcome many challenges to return to the real world. By changing the orientation of your camera, you can find solutions to puzzles, navigate obstacles, and explore the world you’re in.
Background:
For my senior capstone project at Drexel University, I worked on a team of 13 to create Ikigai.
I was a general artist and the narrative writer on this project. I created 2D animation assets and Git to add them to our games repository. I helped to write the script, as well as edit it with the Narrative lead to be concise and appealing for our audience. I created the website for the game as well.
My teammates and I used Maya, Unity, Substance Painter, WWise, Photoshop, and Github, as well as a resource pack from the Unity store, and Trelby (for the script).
